Louis Group donated €100.000

At a modest ceremony held on December 29 at the Hilton Nicosia hotel, the Louis Group donated a total of €100,000 to the Polis Chrysochou Municipality and the Community Council of Kato Pyrgos. The donation from the tourist group was made to support the efforts and the work of public hospitals in the remote areas of Cyprus.

The amount will be used to cover the needs of the General Hospital of Polis Chrysochou and the Rural Medical Centre of Kato Pyrgos. After consultation between the Louis Group and the State Health Services organisation (OKYPY), the equipment needs of the two hospitals were recorded. In the coming weeks, among other items, medical equipment and tools, monitors, and other necessary equipment will be purchased by the local authorities – under the supervision of OKYPY.

Delivering the donation, Mr. Jason Perdios, CEO of Louis Hotels, a member of the Louis Group, said: “We are very pleased that, as Louis Hotels and Louis Group, we are actively participating in the state efforts to meet the growing health needs that have arisen. Today we join forces with the local authorities and the citizens with the aim of strengthening the work of hospitals in remote areas of our island. Always standing by the side of the community, our Group reciprocates the timeless trust of the public. At this point it would be an omission not to thank the President of the Louis Group, Mr. Costakis Loizou as without his creative contribution this donation would not have been possible”.

Receiving the donation checks, the Mayor of Polis Chrysochous, Yiotis Papachristofi and the President of the Community Council of Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias, Nikos Kleanthous expressed their gratitude to the Louis Group for its valuable contribution and assured that the amount will cover significant needs of the two hospitals that currently serve more than 30 communities.

The donation is part of a series of corporate social responsibility actions by the Louis Group, which recognises the importance of active contribution to the society.
